Publication - of the Onondaga Cutoff!

I have been working for some time on a major announcement regarding the Onondaga Cutoff - and today, I can say with excitement that a full-length article on the layout will be published in Model Railroad Planning 2018!

Model Railroad Planning is a special edition, produced by the publisher of Model Railroader, once each year.  It focuses on layout planning and construction, and that's exactly the angle that is taken with my article, which will be published in early January.

I am so grateful for the opportunity, and for the incredible assistance offered by many through the years.  I am hopeful that this is a start to a series of in-depth articles I can create about modeling and layout construction, and that makes me even more thankful for the assistance and guidance.

Best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year!

  2. I agree. I find the thought process behind designing a layout much more interesting than the actual construction itself. MRP is an excellent magazine, and before the digital age and blogs it was the only real way to go "behind the scenes" and see what designers were truly thinking. It is about time Conrail made an appearance in it!

  3. Picked up my copy at the grocery store Friday. I've only paged through it to see what all the articles have to offer. I saw the article on your layout and I'm certrainly looking forward to readying it. Congrats on having all your hard work published for others to enjoy.

  4. Thanks all for the support! My 'author's copy' came in the mail last week and I am thrilled with the reproduction of the photos and how the layout of the article came together. Lots of fun! More progress will come soon with scenery and new construction, and I will document that here - and perhaps too some day in an another article in print.

    Thank you all!
